Open Subtitle Editor is a program that allows you to create, edit and synchronize subtitles for video files. During creation, you can add subtitles at a specific time and specify a certain duration - this is done either by typing in numbers in corresponding fields or by simply pressing the "Quick Add" button when a video is playing. The program offers great features to locate and add subtitles at the precise time.
This program is also able to open subtitle files for modification or even translation: it provides a special Translator Interface for this task. This interface can also be used as a tool to translate other resource files for different purposes. Moreover, it checks for overlaps and timing errors.
The program's GUI is not quite easy to use, as it keeps all the features and controls in a single window. It requires .NET Framework 3.5 and Windows Media Player or another video player (I used DivX for example) to work. There is no documentation available either in the program itself or at its website. Open Subtitle Editor works on Windows platforms.
